Tori is originally from Elkhart, Indiana and currently lives in Cassopolis. She graduated early from Purdue University with a bachelor degree in Communications and a minor in Political Science.
During her time in college, she hosted a rock radio show at Wiley Radio, while also working as a barista. Tori mentored incoming freshman who were first-generation students like her through the Horizons Program. She also helped run social media accounts for an animal re-homing organization in Lafayette, IN.
In her free time, Tori enjoys spending time with her family and oil painting. On the weekends, you can find her in the flea market or thrift store.
Jaki is originally from Nebraska and currently resides in Niles.
She graduated from Southwestern Michigan College with an Associate’s Degree in Communications.
Jaki has two rescue cats; Cheese & Nacho, and loves to spend time with her husband bowling, binge watching TV shows, kayaking, or getting in some target practice. Solo, she enjoys playing video games and reading.
Jaki loves true crime and the supernatural. Melty cheese is her absolute weakness. She has been a Star Wars fan since birth, and she learned to read with The Hobbit.
Her favorite colors are mint green and champagne gold.
Brooke was born and raised in Dowagiac where she currently resides. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, coaching softball, photography, and loves going to the movies.
Brooke’s role at John Scott Insurance Agency is coordinating all the social marketing, which includes updating social media sites and making sure clients are up to date on all agency information.
Ashley Wood has lived in Michigan her entire life and is currently residing in Cassopolis with her husband, beautiful daughter Breelynn and her 2 dogs. She has worked as a paraprofessional for the last 9 years and is excited for this new venture with the John Scott Insurance team. Ashley loves to travel and recently made her first trip to Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
Ashley is the Leader of First Impressions. She is the receptionist/administrative support for the whole team. She is often the first voice you will hear on the phone or the first smile you see when visiting our office. She is responsible in making sure all calls and visitors get directed to the right Leader for the best help possible.
Kayla lives in Paw Paw, Michigan with her cat. She is a hockey fan and also enjoys bowling as well as reading. Kayla graduated from Western Michigan University in 2015 with a Bachelors’ degree in Accountancy.
Kayla’s role at John Scott Insurance Agency is to provide executive administrative support and agency accounting.
Brian is a native of Central Kentucky but has called Southwest Michigan home for the past 20 years. He is a father of three beautiful girls, Olivia, Ansley and Aubrey. Brian is a competitive age group triathlete and is currently training for his first full Ironman in 2018.
At John Scott Insurance, Brian is a Commercial Lines Advisor.
Dawn has lived in Northern Michigan her entire life, growing up on a cherry & apple farm. She currently lives in Maple City with her best friend Jeff. Her son is a senior at Ohio State University and an integral member of the Buckeye’s baseball pitching staff.
She loves living in an area of the country where she can enjoy the various seasons. Dawn is able to spend most of her time outside on the water, hiking scenic trails, or skiing down the white wintery slopes. For over 30 years, she has contributed her leadership skills to her community by coaching ski racing to local young athletes.
Dawn is a Senior Personal Lines Leader and advises the high value clients for both the Dale Rifenberg and John Scott office locations. She is also very involved in the training of other staff members and is currently expanding her knowledge of business insurance risks.
Alyssa grew up in the small Southwest Michigan town of Sister Lakes. She enjoys four wheeling and dirt biking on Off Road Vehicle trails in Baldwin, Michigan and spending time engaging in outdoor activities. She currently lives in Buchanan, MI and received her associate’s degree from Southwestern Michigan College in 2015. Alyssa currently licensed in both Property/Casualty and Life insurance.
At John Scott Insurance, Alyssa is a Personal Lines Leader. She always delivers clients the best service available, getting them the greatest coverage.
Katelyn Deitzen was born in raised the small town of Vicksburg, Michigan. She had the privilege to travel abroad and spend a year in Poland through the Rotary Youth Exchange Program. She attended Michigan State University and received her Bachelors’ degree in Communication in 2014. Upon graduating from ‘Sparty U’ she worked as an Office Manager of a STEM school and then was the Operations Coordinator for a senior living corporate office in Indianapolis, IN. While in Indianapolis she adopted a lab/mastiff puppy, and named him Tank. Joining the John Scott Insurance team has allowed her to move back to Michigan and to be able to spend more time with her family.
Katelyn’s role at JSI will include being the leader of day-to-day operations as well as the executive assistant to the company’s President.
Patricia grew up in New York and moved to the Midwest 21 years ago. Currently lives in Osceola, Indiana with her husband and two children. Patricia has worked in the Insurance Industry for a total of 18 years..
Patricia’s role at the John Scott Insurance Agency is as a Personal Protection Leader. She works with clients to protect all of their assets with the right coverage for the best price.
Tammy Yarbrough was born in in South Haven Michigan and raised in Grand Haven Michigan. She attended both Davenport University and Western University to complete a degree in Accounting. Tammy is a mother of three boys with a total of nine grandchildren that she absolutely loves spending time with. She has previously worked as a Care Supervisor, then a Branch Manager in the Home Healthcare field. She has lived in Southwest Michigan for the last 17 years and absolutely loves the small town vibe and support.
Tammy’s role at JSI will include accounting as well as being the executive assistant to the company’s President.
Oliver grew up locally in Edwardsburg, Michigan on Juno Lake. He currently lives in Elkhart Indiana with his lovely wife Zoe. He loves being outdoors and is an avid cyclist (both road and mountain bike). He has worked in the bike industry for eight years before coming to John Scott. He is excited about the new opportunity.

Nicole was born and raised in South Bend/Mishawaka area. She graduated from Elkhart Christian Academy and then went on to receive her criminal justice degree from Indiana University. She spends most of her time with her wonderful two kids and her two dogs. She is currently licensed in Life Insurance.
At John Scott Insurance, Nicole is an Agent in Training.
Dana grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and has a Bachelor’s degree from Bethel College. Dana has been a Dowagiac resident since 2004 and lives with her two kids.
Dana’s role at JSI is the Executive Operations Leader and accountant.
Bailey is originally from the Kalamazoo, MI area. She went to Western Michigan University and has a BBA in Marketing. Bailey also took classes towards a second degree in English and Creative Writing. She moved to Buchanan in 2017 and loves living in the country because of all the wildlife! She enjoys fishing, golfing, reading, and spending time outdoors in the summer.
Personal Protection Leader
Rachael Roller was born in Topeka, KS and resided there until college. She then moved
to Pratt, KS to pursue her associate’s degree in psychology and played on the women’s
soccer team. Rachael recently relocated to Paw Paw, Michigan. She has a 3 year old
son named Simeon. She loves sporting events and soccer is her favorite. Her favorite
teams to watch in sports are the Kansas Jayhawks and the KC Royals.
Rachael’s role at JSI is the Leader of First Impressions.
Hannah was born and raised in the Midwest and currently lives in Niles, Michigan with her husband. She went to Grand Rapids Community College and previously worked as a medical scribe and transcriptionist in Oncology.
As Leader of First Impressions, Hannah’s role at the John Scott Insurance Agency is to serve as the first point of contact “Making It A Great Day!” for our valued clients, while also assisting withmarketing responsibilities and other customer loyalty services.
Brock grew up in Niles Michigan and attended Edwardsburg high school. Brock went on to receive a BBA in Automotive Aftermarket Management and a double major in Marketing from Northwood University. After college, he spent 3 years in outside sales at a Heavy-Duty Distributor in Virginia Beach, VA.
Brock enjoys movies, trivia, and car shows. He is excited to begin his career as the 4th generation of the John Scott Insurance agency.
Commercial Protection Leader
Katie was born and raised in Niles Michigan, where she currently resides with her husband, two children and three rescue pups. Katie has an Associate’s degree in Design & Graphic Technology from Southwestern Michigan College. She enjoys taking her children on adventures to explore new sites with them and visiting different zoos.
Personal Protection Leader
Maris grew up in Niles Michigan and attended Edwardsburg high school. During his freshman year of college he had the privilege of playing baseball at Holy Cross College and South Dakota State University. Maris went on to receive a BBA in marketing from Western Michigan University. After college, he spent 2 years as the Operations Assistant Store Manager at Kroger in Bloomfield Hills Michigan.
Maris enjoys traveling and experiencing different cultures. His favorite trip was studying abroad in Thailand. One of his favorite things to do in his free time is to try new local restaurants. He is excited to begin his career as the 4th generation of the John Scott Insurance agency.
Commercial Protection Leader
Tiara grew up in Dowagiac. She graduated from Regency Beauty Institute with a degree in cosmetology and is a certified Lash Tech. When she isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her nieces Brooklynn, Caia, and Emberlynn. Tiara enjoys traveling with her family and trying new foods. She also enjoys cooking and baking. Her family really enjoys her homemade cheesecakes and Cajun Chicken Pasta. Tiara likes to binge watch thriller tv shows and read murder mysteries. She loves pickles and potatoes in any way, shape, or form. Her aunt calls her Taters. Her favorite color is orange and she loves anything leopard print.
Nikki has lived in Michigan her entire life. Currently she lives in Galien with her 4 children. Her oldest is a junior at MSU and her other three attend Buchanan Community Schools. She loves all the seasons Michigan has to offer but summer is her favorite where you can find her spending her free time on the beach or Lake Michigan.
Nikki’s role at John Scott Insurance is being responsible advising Personal Lines clients, making sure they have accurate and appropriate coverage to keep them protected.
Katie has been married for seven years, and has 4 kids. Three of her kids live at home with her. She enjoys watching ND football and hanging out with family and friends.

Kody hails from beautiful Holt, MI—GO RAMS! A graduate of Western Michigan University—GO BRONCOS! and a die-hard Detroit Lions fan—GO LIONS! Recently married, he enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife Sara, and outdoors activities, especially hunting and fishing. Kody joined the agency after spending his post-college years in politics. He has a strong desire to keep serving his community.
At John Scott Insurance Agency, Kody is a Commercial Lines Advisor and specializes in farms. A classic team player that always puts the clients’ needs first.
Matt received his Bachelor’s degree from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. After a brief career in education, he came to John Scott over thirteen years ago. Matt lives in South Bend, Indiana with his wife Alison, daughters Emily (12), and Avery(9).
Here at John Scott Insurance Agency, Matt is a Commercial Lines Advisor and Director of Technical Services.
In 1993, after graduating Magna Cum Laude in Finance at Western Michigan University, Amy joined her father Richard Scott to work in the agency. In 2002, Amy became a third generation owner and has enjoyed a twenty three year career as the agencies lead commercial lines Risk Manager. She has served on the Advisory Board of Hastings Mutual Insurance Company for several years and is recognized as a top producing agent.
Amy and her husband Todd, live in Niles, Michigan, with their children Maris (21, Western Michigan University), Brock (20, Northwood University), Mason (15), Dominic (13), and Isabella (6).
In addition to being the company Vice President, Amy is also the leader of the Commercial Lines and High Value Client Departments. Her daily activities include providing expertise and advice to help clients make educated decisions regarding their Insurance Risk Management program.
Todd graduated from the College of the Ozarks in Branson, Missouri and was co-captain of the Ozarks baseball team. He then attended the Western Michigan University where he earned his Masters’ degree, and completed all course work towards a doctorate degree at Andrews University in Berrien Springs.
Prior to purchasing the agency in 2002 he served as an assistant baseball coach at the University of Notre Dame and Holy Cross College, and was a Principal at a local Middle School.
Todd and his wife Amy, live in Niles, Michigan, with their children Maris (21, Western Michigan University), Brock (20, Northwood University), Mason (15), Dominic (13), and Isabella (6).
Todd handles the day to day operations and is in charge of leading agency growth.
