About MARIS

Maris grew up in Niles Michigan and attended Edwardsburg high school.  During his freshman year of college he had the privilege of playing baseball at Holy Cross College and South Dakota State University.  Maris went on to receive a BBA in marketing from Western Michigan University.  After college, he spent 2 years as the Operations Assistant Store Manager at Kroger in Bloomfield Hills Michigan.

Maris enjoys traveling and experiencing different cultures. His favorite trip was studying abroad in Thailand. One of his favorite things to do in his free time is to try new local restaurants. He is excited to begin his career as the 4^th generation of the John Scott Insurance agency.

About BROCK

About Jaki

Jaki is originally from Nebraska and currently resides in Niles.

She graduated from Southwestern Michigan College with an Associate’s Degree in Communications.

Jaki has two rescue cats; Cheese & Nacho, and loves to spend time with her husband bowling, binge watching TV shows, kayaking, or getting in some target practice. Solo, she enjoys playing video games and reading.

Jaki loves true crime and the supernatural. Melty cheese is her absolute weakness. She has been a Star Wars fan since birth, and she learned to read with The Hobbit.

Her favorite colors are mint green and champagne gold.

About RACHAEL

Rachael Roller was born in Topeka, KS and resided there until college. She then moved
to Pratt, KS to pursue her associate’s degree in psychology and played on the women’s
soccer team. Rachael recently relocated to Paw Paw, Michigan. She has a 3 year old
son named Simeon. She loves sporting events and soccer is her favorite. Her favorite
teams to watch in sports are the Kansas Jayhawks and the KC Royals.

About BAILEY

Bailey is originally from the Kalamazoo, MI area.  She went to Western Michigan University and has a BBA in Marketing.  Bailey also took classes towards a second degree in English and Creative Writing.  She moved to Buchanan in 2017 and loves living in the country because of all the wildlife!   She enjoys fishing, golfing, reading, and spending time outdoors in the summer.

Hannah was born and raised in the Midwest and currently lives in Niles, Michigan with her husband. She went to Grand Rapids Community College and previously worked as a medical scribe and transcriptionist in Oncology.

Brian is a native of Central Kentucky but has called Southwest Michigan home for the past 20 years.  He is a father of three beautiful girls, Olivia, Ansley and Aubrey. Brian is a competitive age group triathlete and is currently training for his first full Ironman in 2018.

About DAWN

Dawn has lived in Northern Michigan her entire life, growing up on a cherry & apple farm. She currently lives in Maple City with her best friend Jeff. Her son is a senior at Ohio State University and an integral member of the Buckeye’s baseball pitching staff.

She loves living in an area of the country where she can enjoy the various seasons.  Dawn is able to spend most of her time outside on the water, hiking scenic trails, or skiing down the white wintery slopes.  For over 30 years, she has contributed her leadership skills to her community by coaching ski racing to local young athletes.

About ALYSSA

Alyssa grew up in the small Southwest Michigan town of Sister Lakes. She currently lives in Buchanan, MI and received her associate’s degree from Southwestern Michigan College in 2015.  Alyssa currently licensed in both Property/Casualty and Life insurance.

About KATELYN

Katelyn Deitzen was born in raised the small town of Vicksburg, Michigan. She had the privilege to travel abroad and spend a year in Poland through the Rotary Youth Exchange Program. She attended Michigan State University and received her Bachelors’ degree in Communication in 2014.  Upon graduating from ‘Sparty U’ she worked as an Office Manager of a  STEM school and then was the Operations Coordinator for a senior living corporate office in Indianapolis, IN. While in Indianapolis she adopted a lab/mastiff puppy, and named him Tank.  Joining the John Scott Insurance team has allowed her to move back to Michigan and to be able to spend more time with her family.

About Ashley

Ashley Wood has lived in Michigan her entire life and is currently residing in Cassopolis with her husband, beautiful daughter Breelynn and her 2 dogs. She has worked as a paraprofessional for the last 9 years and is excited for this new venture with the John Scott Insurance team. Ashley loves to travel and recently made her first trip to Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

Matt received his Bachelor’s degree from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. After a brief career in education, he came to John Scott over thirteen years ago. Matt lives in South Bend, Indiana with his wife Alison, daughters Emily (12), and Avery(9).

About AMY

In 1993, after graduating Magna Cum Laude in Finance at Western Michigan University, Amy joined her father Richard Scott to work in the agency. In 2002, Amy became a third generation owner and has enjoyed a twenty three year career as the agencies lead commercial lines Risk Manager. She has served on the Advisory Board of Hastings Mutual Insurance Company for several years and is recognized as a top producing agent.

Amy and her husband Todd, live in Niles, Michigan, with their children Maris (21, Western Michigan University), Brock (20, Northwood University), Mason (15), Dominic (13), and Isabella (6).

Todd graduated from the College of the Ozarks in Branson, Missouri and was co-captain of the Ozarks baseball team. He then attended the Western Michigan University where he earned his Masters’ degree, and completed all course work towards a doctorate degree at Andrews University in Berrien Springs.

Prior to purchasing the agency in 2002 he served as an assistant baseball coach at the University of Notre Dame and Holy Cross College, and was a Principal at a local Middle School.

Todd and his wife Amy, live in Niles, Michigan, with their children Maris (21, Western Michigan University), Brock (20, Northwood University), Mason (15), Dominic (13), and Isabella (6).
